David Larmour is the lead pastor of King Street Community Church in Oshawa, Ontario. He and his congregation decided to do something related to understanding antisemitism in Canada. Through building a relationship with the local Jewish community through learning and fellowship, they entered into a friendship that bolstered their own faith experience.

According to Stats Canada, “Antisemitism targets people who are or are perceived to be Jewish. Antisemitism continues to persist in Canada, manifesting itself in different ways: vandalism and graffiti, circulation of hate propaganda, intolerant and racist statements, bomb threats to Jewish schools, community centres, and other gathering places. Hate crimes against Jewish people increased by 71% between 2022 and 2023 for a total of 900 crimes reported by the police.” (https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/canada-holocaust/antisemitism.html)

This episode will shed light on the reality that many Jews face and the importance of Judaism at the heart of the Christian faith.

The focus of David Dwarka's work is to provide spiritual and mental health support to employees in a workplace environment. As Mission Canada was praying about who could take over this opportunity to serve as a workplace chaplain, a role that was begun by a previous Mission Canada worker, David is the perfect person to step in to fill the gap... and this corporate setting is right in David's hometown of Burlington, Ontario.

As a licensed mental health professional and an ordained minister with the PAOC, workplace chaplaincy provides David with the opportunity to engage with people in two area of life that he values - their mental health and their spiritual wellbeing.

David knows the importance of reaching people right where they are, leaning into everyday conversations and interactions with a listening and supportive ear. With over ten years of ministry experience, he knows that it is often in moments of crisis that people realize the need to confidentially welcome someone into their challenging situations and troubling thoughts. Wellness and wholeness can result when wise counsel is intentionally sought out and occurs in a safe place and space. And when it does, home and family life improve, social relationships strengthen, and workplace challenges often lessen.

David values being able to journey with people, providing encouragement, empathetic listening, and being a sounding board for life's many challenges. David's heart is to help people discover what he has come to understand throughout his life: That God not only loves people, but He is interested in the details of their everyday life. David desires to see people living to the full, as God intended (John 10:10).

Mission Canada is thankful for workers who are welcomed into corporate workplace settings to engage employees in their time of need. Because, in that environment, everyone wins!

After retirement she has become an advocate and facilitator with Safe Families Canada, helping the church to engage with families prior to the need for child protective services. Government funded systems are inadequate to provide the needs of minors in crisis. Karen will help us understand how we can live a world where children are safe and families are together.

In this role, she helps identify, equip, and mobilize workers to serve francophone communities across the country, strengthening local churches and resourcing leaders for greater mission impact. She collaborates with districts and churches to address strategic needs, build bridges between leaders, and launch innovative initiatives and partnerships that reach unreached regions and populations.

Caroline has served in pastoral and leadership roles for over 25 years, ministering in Haiti, Vancouver, Montréal, and now Sherbrooke, Québec, where she co-leads Église le Carrefour with her husband, Pascal. She has equipped leaders through national conferences, training programs, and mentoring networks, and continues to travel across Canada to strengthen francophone ministry expressions.

She is the founder of VIVID Academy, a coaching and mentorship ministry focused on leadership development, and Valeureuses, a francophone platform that equips women. Caroline holds a Bachelor’s in Theology (Institut Biblique du Québec), a Master’s in Leadership (Trinity Western University), and certifications in Life, Leadership, and Business Coaching. She is currently completing a Master’s in Ministry and Business to support the launch of new and impactful initiatives within the Canadian church.

At a time when Maury’s public ministry was declining, she came on board to rewrite his autobiography, create new opportunities for Maury to speak and creatively use Artificial Intelligence to create a graphic novel and short film based on Maury’s ‘Child of Woe’ story.

In this part of the interview we hear her story of being a street kid who thought she had the world by the tail.

The seeds of her faith started when she visited an ornate church and met the priest. Thinking that he was Santa Claus, she poured out her heart telling him everything that she wanted and dreamed about.

Victoria’s life journey would be far from picturesque, but the presence of God brought her to her new day.

The Gate Church is an Alliance Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I’m here with two of their staff. Lead pastor Mark Royall and executive pastor David Gagne. The Gate Church has the unique distinction of owning a former school building with 120,000 s.f., and has become a hub for several different organizations, businesses, residences and ministries to operate.

I’ve known Dave Gagne for 35 years or so and am not surprised that he and his wife Isabel would end up in a ministry like this. When I was a youth pastor in Exeter, Dave & Isabel had a storefront church called Belongers Church. They were ahead of their time with some of the ways that they pastored and conducted ministry. They came with a background in graphic arts. Isabel was a hometown girl in Exeter, just like my wife Marsha. Dave, you and I captured our brides away and took them off to engage in urban and community-based ministry.

This is my first time meeting Mark Royall, so welcome guys.
